Settlin’ in slo-o-o-owly

24 August 11 by Roland and Jinni Shafer Jr.

Elijah and I got to the new home we’re moving into about 11:11PM, two nights ago.

unpackingThe five of us are now unpacking the unloaded boxes and putting things in their places, albeit new places. We have been able to get some 2nd hand beds and a couple chairs, too.

Jinni looked in our old apartment, the one we lived in during our 2006-2007 year up here, and found the dining room table and chairs we’d left (to lighten our load) back then. She was given a chance to reclaim them for the house we’re now moving in to – thank You, Lord!!

I am currently adding this update from my new desk at the NTMC offices. It is so exciting to finally be here – can you feel it, too?!! Thanks go to so many of you who have been with us as we’ve stayed the course the Lord has laid out before us. Our hearts are filled to overflowing with gratitude to the Lord for every one of you.

We appreciate your continued prayer as we settle in over the next few weeks, Jinni (and the girls) at the NTMC Academy, Elijah at his public school (bus ride included) and for me.  More updates to come in the days ahead!

in Christ,
Roland

WOW, YES!! We feel the EXCITEMENT alright, already! We love hearing about women as brave as you, Jinni, who head out to a new place and actually rent a new home. Is it going to be adequate for you guys? So glad you have your own table and chairs back! What a special treat from the Lord.
You are a blessing to us and to Grandma Cora as well.
    Praying for each of you.

our Source of confidence – 2 Corinthians 3;4-6

(4)  We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ.

(5)  It is not that we think we can do anything of lasting value by ourselves. Our only power and success come from God.

(6)  He is the one who has enabled us to represent His new covenant. This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life.

2 Corinthians 3:4-6
