Hi Friends,
Here is a little picture of Karis after her operation. She is puffy because of fluid displacement but is still doing very well.
They are backing off of the 6 meds she is getting and she is responding well. Her heart BP, rhythm, blood gases etc. are all great. The pressure in the artery that they nicked during the operation is also great and will not be a problem now. There are no signs of clotting and the recent echo of her heart has shown that everything is functioning as it should.
Please thank God with us that she continues to stabilize. We hope today that she will start to be fed through a feeding tube and may even get her ventilator removed! This means we can hold her!! :o)
1) Thank God for His grace, He did not have to grant Karis life and give us this wonderful little girl as a gift.
2) Pray that our lives and Karis’s life will be a great testimony to the grace of God.
2) Pray against infection.
3) Pray for Nya and Noah – they are doing well but miss us when we are not there. Nya will start school on Monday and Noah nursery on Tues. Nya will love this, Noah not so much.
4) Pray Karis will be stable by end of tomorrow and could be moved up to the pediatric word out of the critical unit by Saturday. Perhaps from then it will only be a week until we can have her home!!
5) God has taught us many lessons through these weeks, not least of all these past few days; pray He continues to show us our own hearts / failings and that He will reveal Himself more and more.
God of All Comfort
2Cor 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
The juice is worth the squeeze,
Simon, Annika, Nya, Noah and Karis.
