For those of you who were praying that we’d make it home to Colorado in one piece, THANKS! God saw fit to provide the finances, time and sanity we needed to make the journey a success. So now you can praise God with us that we made it to my childhood home and are still surviving the day-to-day challenges.
Now for the details: Namely, why is it so amazing that we made it home? Well, the biggest, looming threat that boggled my little human mind was how we were going to be able to pay off our school bill and still have enough to rent a truck, pay for gas and, oh yeah, have enough money for food at the end of it all. That shows you how small my faith is at times. God provided the finances through donors and job-donors (people who provided me with work to do so I could earn some of the money we needed), as well as by protecting us from the multitude of money-sucking disasters that tend to sprinkle the life of anyone trying to make it in this fallen world.
God also provided us with time and sanity as we prepared to move across the country, graduate, have a baby, and keep the other two toddlers alive in the midst of it all. We were blessed to have help from both of our mothers, as well as more than a few fellow students (dare I say coworkers?) who gave of themselves on our behalf.
So now we’re “home” in… as embarrassing as it sounds… my parents’ basement, in search of an affordable rental property. I’m working full-time doing hardwood flooring, and trying to squeeze in as much partnership development as possible. We have a team of individuals who support us in many ways, but we still have a lot of work to do.
Please pray for us as we continue this process. Pray:
- for wisdom in how much time to spend on “gainful employment” vs developing partners (which is our real job right now)
- for courage to present our ministry and needs to those who are interested (even if we don’t know them)
- for a house to live in.
