Kaylene’s Birth

March 23, 2015 by Steve and Eida Irwin

Kaylene Joy has arrived!

Here’s the birth announcement and news from Art and Lenn:

“Kaylene Joy Irwin was born at 3:18 PM on March 19, 2015. She measured 7 lb 8 oz and 21 inches. Marlene got her wish of giving birth without any medications, and we are very thankful that there were no complications! Her doctor, nurses, and husband were all extremely impressed with her determination.

“It is with immeasurable joy that we welcome our precious baby girl to our family and our home!

“Kaylene’s pediatrician called her a “perfectly healthy baby girl” this morning at her first visit. Praise the Lord that breastfeeding is going well. She’s already gained 4 oz since we left the hospital on Saturday…”

“We are tired, but we were relieved to hear the pediatrician say that we’re doing everything right so far.

“Lenn is mostly sore in her upper body from holding on and white-knuckling (no meds) during delivery. We are now primarily concerned with how her autoimmune condition will respond to the post-delivery change in hormone levels. Her rheumatologist has already ordered labs and will be monitoring her. Thanks so much for all your prayers!

“I’ll be home with my two ladies through the end of March, and then I’ll have to pry myself away each morning to somehow try to focus on work.”

We would like to add our heart-felt thanks to all of you who have been praying for Lenn and for Kaylene’s development, leading up to this wonderful and blessed event. We are SO GRATEFUL to the Lord for how well everything has gone. Couldn’t have asked for more.

And isn’t she a doll?

With joy and gratitude,
