New Home Offices for NTM

NTM Moving Down the Street

Well, it’s finally happening. NTM’s USA home offices are moving this week to their new building, which is down the street in the heart of “downtown Sanford, Florida.”

The new address is: 312 W 1st St, Sanford, FL 32771. The phone numbers and the PO Box on the donor envelopes will remain the same.

The old building was quite a fancy hotel in its heyday. It was a favorite of Thornton Wilder and Tallulah Bankhead and was at one time owned by the Giants baseball team. (Click here to read an Orlando Sentinel article detailing the building’s history.) The new building was occupied by a bank.

Call me a traditionalist, but I really liked the character and look of the old building. It’s one reason why I wanted to share this news with you. Can’t you just imagine a 1950’s missionary with a pith helmet strolling up the front walk? However, maintaining an old building is a headache and a cash drain, so it’s time to move on.

After the bank building was donated to NTM, it took several years of labor and investment to refurbish it for our purposes. A former training classmate of ours directed much of the work — everyone says he did a great job.

Admittedly, this is not the new building’s “best side.” They tell us that it really looks nice inside. I look forward to seeing it finished when we hold our annual SLR team meetings there in April.

They tell us more changes are coming, so stay tuned!

In Christ,
