As you can see, our banana plants survived the Austin winter and are loving the spring rains of the Texas hill country! We wanted to write a quick note to thank you for your continued partnership with us and share a brief progress report.
In February we wrapped up the Spanish formatting of another volume of the new revision of Building on Firm Foundations and distributed it to our Latin American cross-cultural church planters. That’s five volumes down and two to go! With each of these projects, I learn more about formatting books with MS Word.
Final formatting of Volume 6 has begun, but as always, there are other irons in the fire.
Did you know that NTM is celebrating its 75th anniversary? You might enjoy this 4-minute video which was made to share what God has done and is doing through New Tribes Mission. Click here or on the picture below to see the video.
Edwin Sanchez, a Colombian missionary who helps direct our training program in Mexico, asked if we could translate this anniversary video into Spanish. So we looked into it and got production rolling.
In the process, we discovered several more short videos that would be very useful to our mobilization teams in Latin America. Did you know that NTM has a YouTube channel? Check it out here. No puppies and kittens, but we hope you find it interesting.
The testimony videos in tribal languages which have the English in closed captions will be the easiest projects since they only require translating the subtitle text. There’s no narration to record. Please pray that we’ll be able to get these produced in Spanish soon.
Before signing off, we want to mention another, more prosaic prayer request…
We are looking to God to supply a replacement for at least one of our aging vehicles. Although they are both still running fairly well, the
’95 Taurus is showing its age and the 2001 Explorer’s odometer passed the 200,000 mile mark a year ago.
So we’ve set up a special support fund with NTM for gifts designated toward updating our transportation. Thank you for praying that God would provide in His time and way, as He always has so faithfully done.
