Here are a few pictures from our recent PGA trip. Enjoy! =img1= Here we are meeting with one of the village elders Friday morning. He helped us understand a lot about the situation in that village. =img2= Here I am working on getting a word list on Friday afternoon. It takes a long time to get 200 words in another language, especially if you want any hope of getting them written decently. =img3= Here’s our boat ride on Saturday to the island. Don’t you love all the mangrove trees in the water? We also lots of neat birds (including herons and pelicans). =img4= After the boat ride, we still had an hour walk to get to the first village. Parts were on solid ground, parts were like this, and parts were walking barefoot on the beach. Nice. Not so nice that we didn’t get lunch until the boat ride back at 5:45pm, but at least we had a few snacks to tide us over. =img5= Here we are meeting with the village chief and some other villagers in the first village on the island, Saturday morning. =img6= Here we’re enjoying dinner with people who became our good friends over the few days we were there. They served as our translators and guides and friends.
