I think I’ve posted pictures on here of my hair being done in African braids before. For the wedding festivities a few weeks ago I decided to have my hair done again, but this time to do it the simple way, without tight braids. The stylist pulled it back into a tight ponytail, braided it into 4 braids, got some fake hair and braided that into 7 or 8 braids, and sewed (yes, with needle and thread) all of those braids up and around, as you can see. Then she put a type of hair-spray gel into my hair that wasn’t braided. It was a gel, but worked like a very strong hairspray. It also tinted my hair darker, which I’m not sure they even knew would happen since their hair is black already. It actually stayed quite well since I didn’t wash it and wrapped it up when I went to bed. I got it done on Wednesday and didn’t take it out until Monday, after the wedding festivities on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. And for those of you who have ever gotten your hair done at a stylist’s, you’ll appreciate the price. The fake hair – $2.20. The cost to get it done – $3. Total – $5.20. Nice.
