There is a famous ballet called “Swan Lake.” In this ballet, there are two main female leads – Odile and Odette. One is good and one is bad. I often forget which is which, though.
Here in French choir at my church, one of the girls’ names is Odile. But whenever I heard it, my brain automatically put it in the category “Swan Lake,” and I promptly forgot whether it was Odile or Odette. It probably took me a year or more to get it straight. Her name is Odile.
But now the unthinkable happened – I found out that another girl is choir is named Odette! Now what am I going to do?
