In My Village, they often feed us fish with our meal. Not being a fish person, I was excited on this last trip out there that one day I got some meat instead! I saw that it was a little leg, so I assumed it was rabbit, which I’d been fed there before. I ate it. It was definitely better than fish!
That afternoon Jen’s cousin, who was out visiting, asked the guy who had given us the meat what it was. “Bush rat,” was his response. I’m glad I didn’t know that until AFTER I ate it!
Dave says
Oh, so is it better knowing afterwards vs beforehand? I guess maybe?
