(I wrote this post on Saturday evening.)
Good news! I’m heading out tomorrow for a trip to Israel with a bunch of people I know from my church in the US! I can’t wait!
More good news! Our houses in the village are finally finished! (Or at least they’re close enough to being finished that we can move in.)
Crazy news! The two overlap – the trip to Israel is right when we’re finally able to move into the village.
More crazy news! Jen will be going back to the US on home assignment (furlough) less than two weeks after I get back from Israel.
So what are we going to do between all the good news and crazy news? First, thank God for all the good news! Second, here’s our plan, at least how it stands at the moment:
I head to Israel.
Jen moves into My Village.
I get back from Israel.
We have our big “We’re moving!” party shindig in My Village.
Jen leaves on home assignment.
I live in My Village without her, learning culture and language and building relationships and such.
So yeah, this is a very exciting time, but a crazy time, too. Thanks for joining us in thanking God for all the good stuff and praying for us in the craziness of it all.
PS. Additional crazy news – the internet has been so intermittent since yesterday that it’s taken me hours to just get this update uploaded and sent. Additional good news – In the meantime, my teammates have helped me pack up my house and now it’s ready for moving into the village! They’ll even take my stuff out there while I’m in Israel. Who could ask for better teammates?
Wow and Wow! May your trip to Israel and time with people from your home church tremendously encourage you and your return to set up in your house in “My Village” go really well. Thankful with you for your great teammates! thanks for the update!
