Thank you, everyone, for your continued prayers for little Rachida. In the picture, you’ll see her with her mom the evening of her first eye-removal surgery. Since then, she’s had another round of chemo (a prerequisite for the second eye-removal surgery) and received an artificial eye (which some of you, through giving to my ministry, helped make possible!). Her next appointment is set for the 12th (which will probably be tomorrow by the time this gets posted, even though I’ve been trying to post it for a week), and hopefully at that time she’ll be able to get a date for the second surgery. But please pray that God would be in complete control of the timing of the second surgery, since there’s talk of the doctor going to some conferences and on vacation and such, but I don’t know all the details. We would like to see the surgery done as soon as possible, giving the cancer the least amount of time possible to spread, but God knows best.
Pray for Rachida’s mom, too, as she gets used to seeing Rachida with her fake eye (and a second one will hopefully be coming after the second surgery). Also, from what I understand with the fake eyes, they need to be removed and washed regularly, which doesn’t sound like the most fun job. Pray for her mom as she learns how to do this. And pray that God would continue to woo them to Himself, and that they’d listen.
Thanks so much for continuing to stand by this little one who is loved by God!
Prayers for Rachida and her mom. and for wisdom and competence for the doctors.
Continuing to pray–difficult for all.
Praying for everyone involved in the surgery & treatment of this horrible cancer. Her mom looks so young. Please Jesus wrap your healing arms around that sweet child.
Praying she has gotten a date for the second surgery. Such a trial for mom and child. May this draw them to choose to believe all that our wonderful Saviour has in store for them beyond this earth!thank you for the updates, Susie!
