I have plans! I’ve been waiting to write on here, thinking and hoping that I’d have some kind of “set” plans for the future soon, but had almost given up waiting to know something.
But now I have firm dates to plan around, and it’s lovely. Or at least one firm date and a lot of unknowns. But, as I’m sure you all agree, having one firm date on the calendar is better than nothing! And, as I’m sure you all know, too, even that date can easily get changed or canceled. What was that Bible verse about people making their plans but the Lord directing their steps (Proverbs 16:9)?
Anyway, here is the current plan: I am in the US until at least the second half of November! And after that? Well, probably a return to Senegal, where I’ll keep working on the types of things I’ve been working on from here.
Then (drumroll, please), God has been starting to crack open doors for a potential return to My Country! It’s still a maybe, but it’s looking like it may be possible, and maybe even sooner-ish rather than later. We’ll see. . .
What else have I been up to lately? Discourse analysis. Harp on Facebook. Helping others with linguistics. Working on my thesis. Enjoying summer. Working on figuring out how to better help people with linguistics. Trying to avoid getting coronavirus. Staying in touch with people around the world, especially in West Africa. Trying to make some more solid plans for both the near and the more distant future. And finally writing this to you!
