How many of you have used a stapler before? Or I suppose I should ask, how many of you have NEVER used a stapler? I imagine that if you’re reading this and are over the age of 10 or so, using a stapler is something you’ve done lots of times and know how to do well.
But the other day I had some papers that needing stapling and I asked one of my alphabet party guys to staple them, and he told me that he had never used a stapler before. He had seen staplers and had even seen people using them, but he had never used one himself. So then of course I had to give him several opportunities to use it, I opened it up and explained how it worked, I told him to watch out for his fingers, etc.
When I told this recently to my mom, her comment was, “And you wonder why everything takes you longer!” Yeah, I suppose that if I had a team with Ethnos360 I probably wouldn’t have to teach them things that we consider basic, like using a stapler, using Excel or Word or Powerpoint (though I sent them to a training for the basics of that at least), who Ruth and Boaz are, etc. I guess things like that contribute to the reasons why things progress so slowly here!
