Hot in June 2008

Hi prayer partners,

Alabama is getting July weather already in June. But hot is fine, when we’re inside with air-conditioning :). Martha and I alternate taking Mom Peterson down to see Dad at the nursing home in the afternoons. We enjoy getting e-mail notes from Aaron (who is off to war) from time to time. He is doing fine, as are Ave’ and the two granddaughters in Japan.

Right now we are helping our local church with their VBS program June 8-11. Martha is taking care of the babies (she misses seeing our 4 grandkids) and I am supervising the sports for grades 1-6 (each grade with it’s own time-slot throughout the evening.) I have been invited to be the missionary speaker for a week of Bible Camp June 22-27. So, I’m developing 6 PowerPoint presentations to help keep the attention of these Junior High kids, as they are exposed to the need of tribal missions.

We just got news from Lesley in Cote d’Ivoire that she has a college-aged friend who is visiting her for 2 months, and they will be out of e-mail or phone touch for those 2 months, as they immerse themselves in learning the Glaro language and culture.

See our Prayer & Praise items for this month under the "PRAY for real needs" link on the left.
