Home from Haiti!

June 26, 2009 by

A home visit in Haiti.

Bonjou,
That’s Creole for "Hello" and "Good morning". And it sounds a lot like French. Actually schools are all taught in French, even though the people usually talk to each other in Creole. But God surely orchestrated my "last-minute" joining this group going to Haiti, and I was able to meet a critical need at the Baptist Haiti Mission. They have over 300 schools in northern Haiti, and were getting ready to print a pilot-project Grade One Bible curriculum. It was very similar to the chronological storying through the Bible that I had translated for West Africa. So they asked me to proof-read their 269-page document, and we soon realized that it needed more editing than I could finish in a few days. So I will finish the project by e-mail, from home here in Alabama. I do thank you for your prayers for me and the group – we all got home with no major mishap, and grateful hearts for what we saw God doing in Haiti.
Theo.
