Happy Easter!

This Easter missionaries are traveling (and walking the last 2 hours) to ask the village elders for permission to return to a Glaro village where missionaries had to evacuate in 1990. Lesley is translating key Old Testament passages, in preparation for teaching the Easter story to the Glaro people. Aaron & Amy are studying the Glaro culture & language to be able to become Bible teachers in this language.

Denny is translating the Book of Matthew into the Palaka language, and she’s almost up to the Easter story. She is now completing some of the translation procedural steps of doing a Back-to-English version of her Palaka translation, doing content checks, and preparing questions to ask the Palaka people – to verify the accurate comprehension of the Palaka Scriptures. She and her husband, as well as the Caleys, are taking a trip to the Palaka village this summer.

In July I will be taking a team of 16 or so volunteers from our local church to Haiti – to do relief work. We are raising funds to build up to 5 new houses for earthquake victims. I will also be contacting French-speaking translation checkers in Haiti, to help me edit the Bible curriculum for over 300 schools in northern Haiti.

PRAY:

1- for safety for the missionaries travelling across borders (Apr.5-8) and getting permission to live in a remote village of the Glaro people.

2- for missionaries seeking to translate the Easter story accurately, so that people groups can hear it in their own heart languages.

3- for Theo’s planning and preparations for a trip to Haiti; and for his French translation projects.

PRAISE:

1- for the two seminars we were able to attend at New Tribes Mission facilities in Florida and in Missouri, in the last 2 months.

2- for missionaries that are pressing on into even unsafe areas of Ivory Coast and West Africa, for the sake of the unreached tribes.

3- for provisions so that Theo can take a team of volunteers to Haiti this coming July.

Part of the team, reaching tribes with the Easter story,
