PLANNING perspectives

February 11, 2010 by Theo and Martha Enns

The earthquake hit Haiti just days after we wrote you our prayer requests last month. We had been praying about me (Theo) returning to Haiti this June, as a follow-up trip from last summer. But now we see an even greater urgency in preparing to go help the missionaries who are in Haiti, in their disaster relief. We are still waiting for some final proof-reading on the last set of Bible lessons for the Haitian grade one curriculum that we edited for them. We are in the planning stages for possibly using our French Firm Foundation translation to also translate a Bible curriculum for Grades 5-6 into French. This could be used in Haiti, in Africa, and maybe even in Quebec!

Our former co-workers, Paul & Marina Briggs, moved back to Africa last month, to the country just north of the Loron churches that they had established in Côte d’Ivoire before we all had to leave in 2004. They have visited the churches a couple times this year already. They are encouraged that the literacy program is progressing (which enables the Loron people to read the Loron Bible that the Briggs are translating), and that the church is growing in both numbers and spreading into new locations within that tribal region.

PRAY:

1- for safety for the Briggs as they travel extensively, both in & out of the Loron territory, and even around Africa helping other missionaries, as NTM consultants.

2- for Martha & I as we go to our NTM USA home office in Florida Feb.21-26, where I will be taking a Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills workshop.

3- for planning we need to do regarding upcoming French translation projects, and potential trips to Missiouri, Canada & Haiti in the next few months.

PRAISE:

1- for Briggs’ health, which enabled them to return to west Africa as Bible translators and missionary consultants.

2- our health, which enables us to continually ask God for projects that He is wanting us to accomplish.

3- for missionaries in Haiti that are already in place to help the victims of the earthquake (and God asks us to keep praying for more labourers!)

Seeking to know and do His plan for our lives,
