Rejoicing in Heaven!
Martha’s mom, Abbie Peterson, went to be with the Lord yesterday afternoon. She had a brain-bleed stroke and was in a hospital in Chattanooga, TN for 8 days before being released to come home under hospice care this past Tuesday, July 6th. She was only home 48 hours, with no signs of pain or distress, although she couldn’t speak, eat or drink. Ed (Martha’s brother), Martha and I were at her bedside – her face was so calm and peaceful — when she quietly stopped breathing.
We all are thankful that she went Home before I left for Haiti. We are having the funeral Monday morning (July 12), and our Haiti team is leaving that afternoon. Eight folks from our local church are going with me for a week of helping the Baptist Haiti Mission with some earthquake damage. Then I’ll be home for a week before our second group of nine joins a group from several local churches July 26th to August 3rd. This second group plans on building a couple homes for earthquake victims in Haiti.
Thank you for all your prayers for us. Obviously Martha and I will be having some major transitions in the next few weeks and months. We are asking God to lead us as to where He wants us to serve next – even back to Africa, if He so chooses. And always pray with thanksgiving, for this is the will of God for us all.
Gladly in His care,
Theo & Martha Enns
