We’re sliding back to first base.
Our Coach had told us to run for second base, but then called us back. When our house was put up for sale, and a buyer signed a contract to buy within 24 hours, we felt God was asking us to pack up and get ready to go. But the buyer did not get her loan, so our house is again up for sale. Now we are returning Dec.20th from our cross-country visits with friends, supporters, and family to face an unknown – and an empty house, with our stuff all in storage – waiting for our Coach to tell us whether to run or wait.
We plan to be at Second base (that’s the NTM Field Ministries Office in Sanford, Florida) for at least one year – from where we will be working on a base text of the Firm Foundations Children’s School Curriculum. Then we will again watch for the Coach’s signal to run on to Third base (that’s Haiti, where the Baptist Haiti Mission has asked Martha and I to live for two years), to help them develop a Bible curriculum for grades 1-6 in their church schools.
We find ourselves with many questions. Who will He provide to sponsor us, to partner with us, so that runs can be scored (souls won for eternity)? Where will our Coach place us for the next inning – will we get to return to Africa, to help the NTM Team in the Outfield there? We do thank the Lord for those of you in the bleachers who are with us in heart and prayers. Please join us in the following praises and requests:
PRAISE:
1- for good visits in November and early December with supporters, friends and family all across Canada & the US – and for safety in our travels.
2- for the west African countries that are progressing in finding stability, so that missionary efforts can continue in peace.
3- for the privilege of being a part of seeing the Christmas message reach around the world.
PRAY:
1- that God will send another buyer for our house soon.
2- for wisdom as to what to do while we wait, since the development of the Firm Foundation Children’s School Curriculum is already starting.
3- for a meeting in early January with leaders from both NTM and Baptist Haiti Mission about the French translation of this curriculum.
Willing and ready to go,
Theo & Martha Enns
