Waiting in January 2011

January 9, 2011 by Theo and Martha Enns

Haitian school childrenWe have Haiti on our minds!

I will be flying to Florida on Thursday, for meetings on Friday (Jan.14) about the Bible curriculum project. Two leaders from New Tribes Mission, two leaders from Baptist Haiti Mission, the ANI Bible curriculum developer and I will be going over our mutual goals and time-lines for seeing these Firm Foundation Bible lessons adapted for home-schooling & Christian schools.

On a personal level, Martha and I are waiting in Alabama for the Lord to signal to us that it’s time to “go” (see last month’s letter on our website.) We are waiting for our house or Martha’s parents’ house to sell, or for better promised financial support, or some other indication that it’s time to run to second base. We expect to live in Sanford, Florida for a year, working on the base version of the Firm Foundation school curriculum; and then moving to Haiti for two years to supervise the French translation of these lessons for grades 1-6.

Meanwhile, we thank the Lord for a part-time evening job here in Alabama (for Theo) as we wait to move on. And we thank you for joining us in prayer and praise to the Head Coach.

PRAY:

1- for our house to sell quickly, so we can move to Florida for our new ministry with New Tribes Mission’s Field Ministries Office.

2- for wisdom in developing the Firm Foundation Children’s School Curriculum for schools in non-western cultures.

3- for our meeting on January 14th with leaders from both NTM and Baptist Haiti Mission about the French translation of this curriculum.

PRAISE:

1- for a house to “camp out” in (the Peterson’s place that we are also preparing for sale) in Rainsville, Alabama.

2- for a part-time temporary evening job as a janitor substitute at the local public school for a few weeks.

3- for internet and technology that enables us to even work on this Mission project from home, as we wait.

Waiting to go,

 Theo & Martha Enns
