Eyes of Faith!

June 19, 2015 by Tim and Andrea Ullum

We wanted to update you on how things are going here in jungle land. We want you to know that anytime you think to pray for our family, our team, and the friends in need of Jesus here, we truly appreciate it. We know the weapons that are the sharpest and most impacting are the prayers of God’s people, God’s Word, and His Spirit.

Our neighbor who loves to ask for bread and cookies!!!
Our neighbor who loves to ask for bread and cookies!!!

We have felt the spiritual battle to a heightened level the last few months. We’ve seen some friends and studiers get more excited and convinced of God’s Truths and then we’ve seen others walk away in disinterest. Both the highs and lows of life have been more extreme lately and we’ve struggled more with discouragement than at other times.

This happened beside our house. He was chasing a rat when our neighbor chased and caught him.

So those are the realities and challenges that our team has been dealing with. But the other reality is that of how God is doing so much more than we can see or know. We so want to see the results and impact with our own eyes because it’s about something SO important. Seeing our friends embrace true Life for the first time in their lives. But when we don’t see those things with our physical eyes we need to continue to remind one another that it really does have to be about God’s TIMING and WAY! We are choosing to see with the eyes of faith in the work that God is doing.

Bye bye 2nd grade!

We continue to meet with our initial study group on Monday nights, have a smaller group Wednesday nights and Saturday night is in another village. Please continue to pray for the dear friends that are meeting that their hearts would be pricked with God’s Truth and be brought alive! Pray for Tim as he prepares lessons for ongoing teaching, and also for our partners as they delve into their first full translation project.
The girls have finished 2nd grade and we will have a summer vacation in July. Andrea’s sister and family will come to visit us at that time!!! On the way out to town for our vacation we will stop in Dina’s birth family’s village for 4 nights where Tim will share one of the nights at a village Bible conference. Thanks for praying for the details of these travels, for refreshment after a difficult couple of months, and for good health.
THANK YOU!

I love this Blog. The photos are fabulous, even that beautiful green snake and the chicken swinging. You are in our prayers for all of God’s favor and care as you touch the lives of those who need so much, but most especially Jesus. May you be blessed in your travels ahead. Reading your blog makes me smile all over. I miss your entire family!
