Summer is HERE!

June 17, 2017 by Tim and Andrea Ullum

Summer is HERE!

Last week of school

That means different things for different people but for our season of life and place of ministry it means a change of pace and travel for this summer.

The girls and I have finished 4th grade and so a bit of a break is in order. It was a challenging year of teaching and also with the addition of having a baby, mornings were especially crazy trying to get everything done.
We are currently in town and have some air conditioning to enjoy, different food and fun fellowship.

Training in Kucing

Tim has gone to Malaysia to teach for a week. It’s a neat opportunity to help pastors gain a vision and strategy for establishing people in the gospel of grace, through phase/chronological teaching. Several of the men are already putting the training into practice.

Our first baptism

We’ll take a trip as a family to the capital city, to get passport things worked on. While we are there we are looking forward to a few days away together as a family!
Some of you may have heard in our Breaking Strongholds updates about the exciting thing that happened in the village last month. We were able to baptize some of our first believers, along with our 2 girls! It was a very special work of God to witness the profession of faith and act of obedience of getting baptized. We’re so thankful for what the Lord has done!

Songs and fun with the kids

We have finally been able to start a kids club in the village! We’re starting at the beginning and seeking to lay a foundation, for the children of who God is and why we can trust Him. We’ve had about 30 children each week. We do a lesson, have translated songs into the local language like

He’s Got the Whole World, Jesus Loves Me, and My God is So Big. We’ve also enjoyed teaching new games as well. We do a coloring sheet each week and that’s certainly a highlight for them. The children rarely get to color, just no crayons in school or the village so each of them takes time doing a careful job coloring each week. Thanks for your prayers for us as Irene and I teach, that it would be clear to the children and also for their little hearts to soak up His Truths and make it their own.
We could not be here without your support and care for us. We know many of you give sacrificially and we don’t take that for granted. Thank you for each gift you send, and for each prayer you pray on our behalf!

For Him,

Tim, Andrea, Dina, Abby, & Titus
