Selamat Sore! That’s how we say good afternoon here. It’s a rainy one over here on the Equator. Normally we’re well into months of dry season but instead we’re getting TONS of rain and different areas in the village are flooding. It’s a very strange weather year.
Does the above title ring a bell for you? The popular song Jesus Loves Me, such simple words but very real messages. The girls and I have been reading through Psalms the last few days and have read over and over of David’s testimony of weakness, tears, fear,… but yet His determination to trust God through it all, what an encouragement. Such a comfort that everyday we wake up will be too much for us to handle, too much stress, too many decisions, too much heartache. And yet He is still strong in and through us and will enable us to face whatever comes!
As we mentioned in our last update we had a lot of things going on this summer that has us out of the village for a time. We’re actually still in town, now waiting on the paperwork for Dina’s passport. In the meantime we’ve been able to take a trip into Dina’s birth village and had a nice visit with her birth parents. It’s always very good to reconnect with them. They are now living in a small but newer house and we’re so glad to see that. They still have many challenges but we’re thankful we can be in contact with them and can know how to help them physically and through prayer.
We also enjoyed a few days in another village attending a celebration of the newly completed New Testament Bible in the Semandang language. Such a huge project and blessing for the people!
Tim has completed teaching and recording all of our tribal lessons onto the computer in order to get them in the hands of anyone interested in the village. There are solar powered recorders coming from Singapore as I write that will serve as a way for the people to hear the lessons in their own homes. Pray with us that this would be a way to reach new people with the gospel and also help to reinforce God’s truths to those who already believe!
The kids are doing well. Titus is 11 months old and is walking and climbing. He’s a busy little boy but such a fun blessing! The girls are enjoying different friends out here in town and are also doing some summer school projects and learning how to type.
Please pray our paperwork will be completed soon as we’re ready to get back home now. Pray for the teaching and kids club going on in the village, and as always pray we would be led by the Spirit in all parts of our life and be a blessing to anyone we come in contact with!
Thank you for your love and support. We hope you are enjoying your summer and enjoying the blessings of the Lord today!
Warmly,
Tim, Andrea, Dina, Abby & Titus
