Dear Friends,
We are writing this from our mission home out in town. For this season our ministry has changed slightly as we await our little one to be born. Tim is continuing to work on translation and has had the privilege of working through the book of Ephesians.
Earlier this month we had two friends from the village come to town and help with checking the translation of Eph. A major, if not the major theme of the book is our position In Christ. As members of this new community, in Christ, we have so many blessings from God and a new identity to move towards. Beyond just having a new identity as members of this group, we also have a calling to walk in. The guys likened it to a favorite game they played as kits. Tops! They would take a piece of wood, shape it into a top. Then they took strip of bark from a tree. After rolling the strip of bark it became a string for spinning their tops. A well thrown top with spin and generate momentum for other tops when it bumps up against them. Even wobbly tops can be helped by a newly thrown top, spinning next to them.
There were many applications they drew from this picture of spinning tops. It’s a good question for us also. Is the life of Jesus touching other in the Body of Christ and spinning them up with strength to keep on spinning? It’s a dizzying thought (pun intended) and not one that we can do in our own strength. Yet His life in us can and does re-energize us in Christ.
Tim & the kids all went a half hour flight away to Kuching in order to get an immunization for Titus that is not available in this country. They had one full day to see some sights and enjoy a hotel.
Thanks again for your prayers for baby. As of our last email we were concerned about placentia previa. Thank the Lord the placenta moved into it’s proper place and so did the baby. Unfortunately in the last couple of weeks baby has turned breech and so we again ask for your prayer for some flipping to happen. We have couple short weeks for him to turn and so are asking the Lord to do this to help us avoid a c-section situation here in country. We will let you know!
Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. Thanks for the emails and words of blessing you also send along our way. We’re grateful for you!!!
Resting in Him,
Tim, Andrea, Dina, Abby, Titus and baby Ullum
