February Greetings,
We rejoice in God’s provision, protection, direction, and overwhelming blessing each day of our lives. Oh where would we be without His grace and peace as we walk with Him?
One of the big provisions we’re so thankful for has been our friend Sandra West. She has been living with us since October. She does daily school with Dina and Abby, helps in 100 other different ways, and is an all around BLESSING. God has truly gifted
us with her presence.
We also rejoice in your support and faithfulness as you have walked with us on this journey in Borneo. We’ve been encouraged by your love, care packages, emails, and prayers. We are here because God has used you to encourage us and financially make it possible for us to continue ministering here.
Do you ever have those months/years when you can’t see the fruit of your labors and aren’t sure what is going on behind the scenes? Our team has been dealing with that these last few months as there has been apathy and disinterest on the part of many of our studiers and believers in the village. On New Year’s Day our team invited the group and their families to a meal at our house. We shared with them our sadness that they have not been active in gathering to learn and grow together and are giving signs that they don’t want to continue to study together. We let them know that we really want to equip and train them and that we’re working hard to prepare materials for them to learn to read, and also be able to have Scripture in their heart language. Many of them responded that they have missed meeting together and that they’ve been distracted by so many other things that they have not made it a priority. Some said they do want to continue to be involved. We hope to see them follow through with their word and we’re praying that they will say yes to the things that are most lasting and Hope-Giving. Thanks for praying with us for the believers to be strengthened and desire to grow.
On an encouraging note we have another study group about 10 minutes away that is really flourishing right now. Tim & Paul along with a believer from here go there every Mon and Tues night to teach. The people are very eager to continue to hear the Truths from God’s Word. Just this week the men said again that this is the first time they have truly understood God’s word.
We are out in town and have just finished a 3 week long literacy seminar. Our whole team was in town along with 2 of our village friends and we worked through a new program to fully set up a literacy program. These readers and guides will be used to teach the people how to read and write, either for the first time, or how to do it better. We’re very thankful for the team that came from the States to help facilitate this seminar.
Our family is doing well. I, Andrea am getting rounder by the day as we anticipate another little BOY joining our family mid-April! We just found out I have placenta previa which if it doesn’t change in the next few weeks will mean I will need a C-section. Pray with us for wisdom as we will most likely go to a different country for better health care. Pray also for baby to stay put until he’s mature enough to join the world. Thank you for lifting us up in these ways.
Tim has enjoyed doing some translation work in Ephesians recently and enjoys the challenge of putting God’s Truths into the local language.
Thanks again for your care and support, if there are ways we can keep in touch better please let us know!
Walking Together,
Tim, Andrea, Dina, Abby, Titus, and Baby boy

Your letter is very encouraging, especially the part of the believers returning with new interest. I have been praying for this to come about. To some extent, I guess christians do some growing and waning at times, but generally maturing as in Hebrews 5 and early part of 6. YOu are doing such a good work; note that the Lord of the Harvest has His careful eye on you always, as He promised.

It seems as though the hard times make us rely more on Him instead of our own strength. Praying He is sufficient for all your needs. You are a blessing to us and many others.
