Thanks Giving is in the Air!

November 5, 2017 by Tim and Andrea Ullum

Greetings! Try to imagine our family singing this song together around the dinner table. It’s one of our favorite thank you songs:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever, so give thanks to the Lord for He is good!”

Speaking of being thankful we are certainly appreciative of each one of you, our supporters and friends in the ministry. We could not be here without your encouragement and prayers and support! We are often reminded that our battle here is not against flesh and blood, but it’s a spiritual one. And you can be an active part of the battle from afar. Prayer is so key as it taps into and connects personally with the One who works, changes, and births men and women into His Kingdom. We are but planters and waterers here in this dark and thirsty land!
We are out in town for 3 weeks getting some school training for the girls, having a break, and allowing for Tim to take a week in Malaysia for more training of local pastors to do the work of the ministry in their village areas. In addition to that, our homeschool helper Sandra West has arrived from Alaska and will be assisting us with schooling through next May. We’re very thankful for her willingness and sacrifice to come and lighten the load of the different demands on our growing family.
In terms of growing, our family is excited to announce we are growing in numbers!!! We are expecting number 4 to join us mid-April. We’re so very thankful for the Lord’s blessing, especially when we think of the many years we prayed for children and wondered if we would ever be blessed with any! Thanks for your prayers that the pregnancy will go smoothly, and baby will be healthy! We’re planning to deliver here in the local town if all continues to go normally.

One highlight from the last few months came after Tim had worked for a few hours with a friend and new believer on some translation material. After they finished working together, I served the guys a meal of rice and veggies and then left the room. Tim must have asked the guy if he wanted to give thanks before the meal. From the other room I heard a beautiful prayer from this newer believer. It means so much to us as we watch the slow growth of these believers. It has not been nearly as fast as we would like to see but we can’t force the growth.  Every day God is working and we are grateful!

The last few months we have been doing an addition on our house to give our growing family some breathing space. We made our out-house bathroom an in-house  bathroom as we connected it with a screened in porch, a school room, and a guest room.

Blessings to you as you take time to give thanks this month for all that God is doing in your life and around the world!
