Going South…Pacific

November 26, 2009 by Tom

CIMG0391Great news! We have been given the green light to go ahead and resume our support raising endeavors for our future work in the South Pacific. We are right in the middle of the paperwork process of transitioning to the new field, and are excited to have an official direction once again. Its been a great couple of months to serve in our home church and to gain a fresh perspective & renewed vision for the work ahead of us.

Currently, we are making plans for a partnership development road trip this January. Lord willing this trip will allow us to connect with some new churches and individuals. In the meantime, Beth has done a fantastic job updating our prayer card, brochure, and portfolio to reflect the recent changes in our direction. The next month or so will include the preparation of these new materials and their distribution to current and potential partners.

We are re-kicking off our support raising with 33% of our recommended monthly budget for our work overseas. This is a great place to start, and we are so thankful to our financial partners for sticking with us through this turn of events. If you would like information on how to invest in what we are doing, click here.

We are also re-kicking off our support raising with a strong base of prayer supporters, who faithfully take our needs before our heavenly Father. It has been evident through this change of plans that our prayer partners have been with us every step of the way. We praise the Lord for these partners in prayer. If you would like to receive our prayer email updates, contact us.

Here’s some things we could use prayer for right now:

• The completion of our paperwork for the new field
• Preparations for our possible January road trip
• That the Lord would continue to raise up partners
• Our family of three during these continual transitions

Hey guys, glad to see things moving forward for you. You can send us a new prayer card if you want. You could also come down and visit and hand deliver one of those hot off the press prayer cards. Anyway just wanted to say hi and tell you we are excited to be going to the same field as you guys. We are heading to Madang to do our E2 then we will be moving into a support role for a couple years until the kids get through high school. We are planning to arrive by the end of June. Do you guys have a projected date of arrival? Where are you headed?

Hi Matt! Good to hear from you, and good to get an update! We are also planning to arrive sometime in June/July (not specific yet), but we’re headed to the Islands. I’m sure we will cross paths at some point! 🙂 Where are you guys these days?
