Things are pretty crazy these days as we continue to tackle paperwork (poor Tom) and begin to dive into the complicated task of packing. As you may imagine, when you are moving to an island half way around the world there are things you would need. Add to this the fact that this island is one of the least developed and unexplored places left on earth,…you need a few more things. Though it has been difficult, we are gathering much advice from those who have gone before and our lists are coming together.
As for the packing, would you believe that everything we are shipping can take up to six months to get to Papua New Guinea! Judging by our estimated departure for PNG, this means we are running a bit behind! Meanwhile, Jude is getting a real thrill out of the large tubs we are packing in and views them as his own personal play-pen. 🙂
Right now we are praising the Lord since just yesterday we received a wonderful gift of something we will need a lot of overseas: SHOES! A sweet couple from our church gifted us with several pairs of shoes that will serve our needs very well while living in a place that is very hot and has a lot of rough terrain. We are so very thankful to them for their unique investment to this ministry. After all, you can’t get the gospel to the unreached with bare feet! As simple as this is, we are incredibly encouraged by just one more piece of our needs list being met. God is our wonderful provider and He never ceases to amaze us by His provision!
There are still things we need for our move overseas, if you would like to help by getting something we need, that would be very helpful! You can take a look at our list of needs HERE. We have also created a “list” registry at Target and a “wish list” on amazon.com. You can check those out too!

Congratulations on being able to fit into the packing tub yourself! Skinny, skinny!
It must be around Jude’s birthday time, and I can’t find the date written in my new calendar. Please refresh my memory.
You have lots of cute and fresh ways of approaching an old and uncomfortable subject (asking for donations). May the Lord use them.
I’m okay, in Sentani again after a one-week trip to Dagai. I told the Duvles about you and your stage of family-making.
More later,
