Recently we applied for something called a “diaper grant” from a wonderful organization who sells cloth diapers. They have a commitment to help overseas missionaries by giving them cloth diapers. About two months after we applied for the grant we were approved and Jude’s spankin’ new cloth diapers arrived today! This is seriously a huge blessing because using and disposing of regular diapers in a jungle is not easy. We are so very thankful for this wonderful company and the way they are blessing us, and so many others. Now I just need to adjust to this new way of diapering and we will be all set. Jude seems to like them and he looks so cute in them!
On a different note, today I was speaking with a travel agent in Australia about flights to PNG and she asked me when we would be returning. As the words, “They would be one way tickets” came out of my mouth I must admit that my heart skipped a beat. Not because I was afraid necessarily, but just because it was one more moment lending to the very real reality of our future life in a totally foreign place. WOW, this is really happening!
As my heart does funny things when I think about our future, I can’t help but think about what God’s heart is doing. His excitement must far exceed my own! God’s love is just waiting to be poured out on those who have never heard of Him. As I experience the peace and joy that comes from my own relationship with the Lord, I cannot wait to share the knowledge of the availability of such a relationship. An abundant life! A life characterized by intimacy with the only One who holds the answers to every question we have. I could sob with joy at the thought of His love reaching those who are isolated from such wonderful news!
As for prayer, please pray for Jude and I as we have struggled with being sick for a while now. Needless to say, we are miserable and it has made getting all the stuff we have to do harder to get done and it’s just sad to see my baby sick. Thankfully Tom has remained healthy so that is good. Thank you for your prayers!

Hi Megan! I told Beth about your inquiry into the diaper grant. It’s pretty awesome. She will email you with those details as soon as possible. That’s awesome that you have your tickets. When are you guys hoping to depart? We are looking to come out to Oregon sometime in May maybe… so hopefully we can connect again.

Hey guys, that is so exciting that you are leaving in July- I know what you mean when the tickets are “one way”- we just got our tix and it was a weird feeling! I was curious about the whole diaper grant… we are going in October, with hopefully one potty-trained and then a “newbie” too, so just wondering about how that all worked out… 🙂 Hopefully we’ll see you when you come to the west coast, praying for you guys!
