(Next newsletter from Papua New Guinea!)
And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
John 1:14
It’s the season of the year where we remember and celebrate Jesus coming to live among us, as the Word of God, to bring us the good news that he would pay the punishment for our sins so that we don’t have to. I once heard someone say, “If you have the Bible in your language, it’s because someone brought it to you.” Having had the Bible in English for 500 years, we often forget that someone did indeed ‘bring’ it to us, and it cost him his life (look up William Tyndale for more of that story). Even today, in 2023, there are still people in the world that have not heard the good news in their own language. And though we will not be the ones doing any translation, we are excited to finally be leaving for Papua New Guinea in just over a week, so that we can support the missionaries who are bringing the good news into these places.

We are keeping our phone numbers! Through the miracles of modern technology and Google voice. We are able to keep our old phone numbers and use them whenever we have WiFi signal. This means you can call or text us at our old US numbers.
What time is it anyway? We will be in the PGT Time Zone. It’s close to the equator so they don’t observe daylights savings time. That means in the winter we will be 18hrs ahead of Pacific Time (15 hrs ahead of Eastern time), and in the summer we will be 17hrs ahead of PT (14hrs ahead of ET.)
Praises
As it get close to time to leave, we’ve seen a lot of neat last minute blessings and answers to prayer.

- Good health and safety, especially on our travel days (it’s a 32 hour trip counting lay overs.)
- Smooth adjustment into our new surroundings, especially for the kids.
