Phil. 4:19, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
We all know this is true, but sometimes our situation clouds our thinking. For example, it is easier to trust God when you have a healthy savings and pay role; but when both are small and the needs are great, I often begin to doubt and fear. It is difficult to continue writing that our support level is at 60% and we have several thousand dollars to raise in outgoing expenses, with our departure date getting closer—school starts at Faith Academy on July 31. So do pray: 1) for strength as we trust our faithful God for our finances and 2) for wisdom as we plan our final months and departure date. We hope to purchase our tickets soon before prices go up. Looking to the future is never easy, but looking at the promises in His Word and His faithful track record just in our past is encouraging.
Easter is a wonderful time to reflect on all that God has done for us and the sure hope that we have In Christ.
Update: As we mentioned in our last email, we were not able to speak in many churches in January and February. We were thankful for the few opportunities plus we enjoyed visiting several friends and family on our trip to the East coast. I enjoyed the NILD workshop. The main speaker was a neuropsychologist. It was encouraging to be updated in this area and to know the activities that we use on our students have a tremendous impact on the brain.
March and April are packed with meetings, including three churches that I have not spoken in before. Plus a highlight will be this week—our AWANA program will be hosting their annual Grand Prix and I have the privilege to present the Gospel in a short devotional during the tournament. I have also had a few meetings with some local pastors, which were encouraging to see their excitement regarding our ministry at Faith Academy and New Tribes Mission.
Thank you for praying regarding a vehicle for Ashley. We found a great car last week and Ashley is excited to drive her own vehicle. Juliana will stay one more year at Calvary Bible College with her brother and sister, so she will not need a car yet.
We also mentioned the possible change in my role at FA, going from vice principal to principal. After prayer and several emails, we have decided to make this an interim position as MS Principal for the 2014-15 school year. We are excited about this new ministry and what God is going to do.
As mentioned above, continue to pray for our finances: our monthly support is at 60% and we need money for our return tickets, a “new” vehicle, and finances to set up our house in the Philippines. Plus pray for wisdom to know what to do with our house in Rose Hill at the end of our home assignment.
Thank you for your continued prayer support.
In Christ,
Walter Spicer
