Thank you for your prayers for us. We have put on many miles on our car. In April we traveled to Wisconsin to speak at one of our supporting churches and saw many friends and family along the way. Plus, we were able to spend some time with our son, Ben, and his family before they returned to Brazil, serving with a mission organization called Pioneers.
At the beginning of May, we went to Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota. This past weekend, we drove down to Texas and this week we leave for the west coast. Our one-year home assignment is winding down and our good-byes are becoming harder as our departure date approaches.
This stage in life is difficult as we will leave our adult children on this side of the globe. But we are praising God that they are doing well, serving Him. That is exciting to see. Plus, we are thankful for the many times that we had with our grandchildren and thankful for technology so we can still see them and talk with them.
I was also able to Skype the Head of School and Deputy Head of School at Faith Academy. For this coming year, I will put my teaching hat back on. There is a possibility of moving into an administrative position in the 2020-2021 school year, depending on the desires of the new head of school.
Orphanages are still heavy on our hearts, but the door is presently closed as a full-time position.
So, do pray for us as we transition back to the Philippines mid-July with no children. Cheryl will work in the health office like normal. Pray for Walter as he teaches classes that he has never taught before. We want to be intentional with our free time spending time as a couple, learning to be empty nesters, plus we will look into volunteering at an orphanage.
Pray for us as we continue to say good-bye and make our last big trip to the west coast. We will speak at two more churches. Our monthly support is currently at 65%, but we are hopeful that one new church will begin to support us. We are confident that God will meet all of our needs. In addition to our monthly support, we are also needing to raise $12,000 in outgoing expenses as we will eventually need to replace some of our appliances and our car.
Thank you for your prayers,
Walter Spicer
