First I have to tell you that none of these pictures could truly show you how high the river was because they were taken at the beginning and the end of our crossing. For me, Shara, the river was above my belly button.
Lets start… here we are at the bank of the river. Everyone is taking off shorts, pants, shirts, and skirts. Don’t worry we had board shorts under our clothes and the ladies kept there shirts on. I can’t say the same for the nationals. I was carrying the camera so there are no shots of me if you haven’t figured that out. I will simply tell you my story.
I was so thankful for a young MK, Hanna, who came along with us. She was about my height. We locked hands so we could use each other to brace ourselves against the fast current. It was going to be a challenge to stay standing. I wasn’t expecting the temperature factor either. It was very refreshing and really woke me up to say the least. But the temperature was forgotten as we worked hard to stay standing, walk on slippery rocks, and keep our bags dry, which carried our clothes and belongings. (I had our camera in a ziplock bag inside one of the boys small backpacks. I carried it around my neck so it wouldn’t hang down low.) Can you just picture this! We made it safely across. After we crossed the boys were ready to do it again.
We have crossed over the Rogue River to get to church but we have never walking through a river to get to church. It was incredible!!
Praise God for all He has done for you guys!
We are looking forward to hearing more from you as things getting going. It looks like the river crossing was fun and I’m sure that is only the beginning of many awesome adventures!
Maybe the Lord will give us the green light to come for a visit one day.
Love you guys,
