Vicente is Guarijio and Erendira is Cora. They met in the Bible school here in Chihuahua a couple years ago. But she didn’t think he was interested in her because he didn’t talk to her. Little did she know that he was praying for her for over two years. Vicente was hoping and praying that Erendira would enter the Missionary Training in August. Well, lo and behold, they both showed up in August. In October they started dating. And by December 21th in the Cora and Guarijio culture they were married in Nyarit with her family.
They came back to Ranch in January, and on January 24th we had a Religious/Church Ceremony for them with their friends and churches here in Chihuahua.
Erendira has been a dear friend to me ever since she came to the Bible school. We became instant friends because I know what it’s like to feel like an outsider in a different culture, and she does too. When my parents came to visit me in October, I introduced her as my sister!
I’m so thankful that God allowed Vicente & Erendira to come to the Ranch in August, and that they were able to start dating, and now they are married. I’m excited to see the plans God has for them. Currently they want to finish the training, raise support, and then head back to the village Vicente grew up in. They want to spend time there to help train leaders in the church. Then they might head to Nyarit, Mexico and work with Erendira’s people and plant a church there. We are excited to see how God works in their lives wherever He sends them.
