Our classes at the Missionary Training Center are going very well. We’re so thankful for the training we’re receiving. Our only regret is that we didn’t get this training 19 years ago when we first surrendered to mission work!
PRAISE REPORTS:
> That our classes at the Missionary Training Center are going very well. We graduate the middle of May.
> After graduation, we will move back to Texas to reconnect with our sending church over the summer. We are anxious to see friends & family once again before moving on with the next phase of our training.
> We have recently received word that we’ve been approved to attend the last stage of our pre-field training – NTM’s Language Institute in Mexico. It’s now a requirement that NTM missionaries bound for Paraguay must go through a year of Spanish language training regardless of their level of Spanish. So, come August we will be headed for Chihuahua, Mexico.
> We are soon to be grandparents! Our oldest son, Cameron, & his wife Katy are expecting their first child (a daughter) around the end of May. They will also be graduating from New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI the middle of May. So we are doubly proud of them.
> Our daughter & son-in-law, Autumn & Justin Bartron, have been accepted to begin their training here at the Missionary Training Center this coming August.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
> Grace & perseverance to finish our classes well. We have less than 3 months left of our training here & then we move back to Texas to be with our sending church for the summer.
> At the beginning of August we will be moving to Chihuahua, Mexico for a year of Spanish study. We need wisdom for the preparations, grace in getting the required visas & paperwork in order, & sufficient finances to make the move & live there for a year. We are required to have 60% of our recommended support level raised. Currently we are at 40%.
> We are having some mechanical problems with our van which a local mechanic can’t seem to resolve & which have cost more than we expected. We need wisdom to know what to do next.
