He Has Risen Indeed

High in the Sierras of Chihuahua State, one of our missionary teams labor among the Tarahumara Indians. Tim & Janet Roberts & Ted & Sharon Wingo have lovingly helped the community & faithfully shared the Gospel for years. Last month, during the week leading up to Easter Sunday, the team wrapped up teaching a Tarahumara couple & their teenage daughter from Creation to Christ. This family had to walk for miles over the mountains just to come to hear the lessons. The final lesson covers the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ. Here’s what team member Tim said about the lesson wrap-up:

“Today we were able to complete the first phase of Chronological Bible Lessons with Casimiro, Louisa, and Maricela. Praise the Lord they all desired to place their trust in Him as Savior and Lord! The next few days will be especially hard for them. This is Semana Santa (Easter week) here in Mexico, and it is the biggest of their traditional fiestas, followed by days and sometimes weeks of drinking. Please remember these new believers as they take baby steps of faith and look to Him for strength to endure the mocking and possible ostracism by their families and friends. Pray too, that the body of Christ here will come around them to encourage and uphold them – and that the name of Christ will be magnified through their lives throughout this valley! He has risen indeed!”
