Not surprisingly, it’s been a busy 3 months since we returned to Asia. We’ve been getting back into our ministries here, which includes getting to know and giving input to the 8 families and singles who are currently here studying national language and culture. We’re getting ready to almost double that number as we welcome 4 new families and 2 new singles during the first week of December, Lord willing. Planning for this group’s arrival has already been a long process with the complications of visa permissions, the pandemic, etc. Please pray for these new language & culture students and for our team as we welcome them.
In addition to getting back into ministry here in our town, I (Jennifer) also made a 2-week trip back to our former island to give 6 language evaluations in 2 different interior villages. This is the first time DJ has been able to travel with me for one of these trips. We were gone from October 23 to November 5. Areli, Galilee, and Tyndale stayed with our coworkers the Berglunds, whose children are the same ages as ours and have been close friends for many years now.
At this point we still don’t know when the kids will be able to go back to school in person, but we have been told it won’t be until at least next semester. So for the rest of this semester they will continue with their online classes. The girls are working to complete their first semester of 10th grade, and Tyndale is doing the same for 7th grade. Galilee continues to have a lot of severe migraines and has to miss class an average of once every week or two. Please pray for relief for her, and that she’ll be able to keep up with assignments, etc.
Thank y’all so much for all your prayers, encouragement, and support.
Love in Christ,
DJ & Jennifer Searcy
Areli, Galilee, & Tyndale
