Shifting Into High Gear!

Encouraged To Encourage Others

Hello Friends,

Shifting Into High Gear
It has been a busy semester to say the least and it will end the same way.  I just returned from our Missionary Training Center where I took two families to get a glimpse of what their training would look like and they are wanting to start as soon as possible so that is an encouragement.

I also was able to visit with an old friend this past week.  For those of us old enough to remember the original EE-TAOW video, when it was in VHS format and was actually a promotion for NTM’s Interface program, a short-term educational opportunity in Papua New Guinea with the purpose of helping people understand the realities of missionary work and its implications, Ken Harder was one of the people in that video promoting the Interface program.  He and his wife, Stella became American citizens and I wanted to be there for their naturalization.  Ken is a pastor in southwest Kansas now.

Last Sunday, I left to teach Perspectives in McCook, Kearney and Columbus, NE.  This week, I will be teaching Perspectives in Topeka and Manhattan, KS and then head up to New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI to visit some of the students whom I know and I will also speak in chapel.  Cheryl and I will finish out May in a mission conference in Hugoton, KS.  This summer will be busy, though.

Things To Come
June will have me teaching SS at First E Free in Wichita and later in the month I will be heading to Dallas to teach in a Perspectives Intensive class. After that, Cheryl and I will be involved at First E Free again for their annual Mission Sunday time.  It will be great.

In mid-July I will be involved in the Perspectives National Conference in Baltimore and right after that I will be heading to Papua New Guinea to visit some of the folks whom we have been involved with over the years to be an encouragement and blessing.  We will be blessed also.  I will visit our Field Headquarters, the Wantakia language group, attend a tribal church conference and finally, head home.  Thank the Lord for new arteries to keep me going.

Once again, we want to thank you for your continued support and prayers.  You have kept us going and challenging and seeing new families and single folks coming into NTM to reach the uttermost parts of the earth.  Your generosity and faithfulness have directly led to people being reached who could not have been if someone had not gone to tell them.  Thanks again.

Close. Very, Very Close
One last thing.  Your gifts toward my trip to PNG have really counted.  We are about 90% there and believe that the Lord will provide the rest.  He always does.  Thanks for your kindness.

If you would still like to help towards this project, we would appreciate any prayers and donations toward this project.  If through prayerful consideration God is leading you to give financially, please make the donation by check or online.

If by check, make it payable to New Tribes Mission and attach a note that states: “Doug Schaible trip to PNG”.

Send it to:
New Tribes Mission
1000 E First St
Sanford, FL  32771

You can also give by credit card or EFT.  If you would prefer to do that over the phone rather than online, call our NTM USA Home Office at (866) 547-2460, ext. 1245. They will be able to assist you in making your gift for this trip.

Thank you once again and we can’t wait to get back and share a report of the trip with you.
