This past month we were able to get Cherie’s work visa done by going to Malaysia again and praise God it all came through this time. Shortly after we got back we had the opportunity to visit an established missionary work in a village about 12 hours away. The journey getting there was rough and it was back-to-back from our trip to Malaysia but we really appreciated and enjoyed it. Time has really been flying by and we are sorry to just now be updating you guys with what has been going on.
Our trip interior was very eye-opening and inspiring. I (Eric) have realized that there will need to be a lot of growth in my life moving forward, or rather the need was always there but has been more recently exposed. The tensions of this life can be so strong that we must always be on guard of our attitudes and how we treat others. The Scripture would describe this as a command for the Christian life, not just for missionaries living interior among a “tribal” group of people.
The above image shows some of the different language groups and dialects in our province. This summer I may have the opportunity to do some survey work among a few of the people groups and we will hopefully be able to discover the needs of some of the people groups in regards to the gospel and Bible translation.
For now, we still have the responsibility of finishing our language studies here in town. We have been able to develop a schedule that seems to be working great for our family, Cherie is able to have about 3 language sessions a week, and I have been able to do 4 a week. We still have to share the children while we both try to study as if it were a full time job but we are making progress and beginning to adjust well.
As we continue to study language here in town and begin looking for another house to live in, we really appreciate being kept in prayer by you guys. We have a long road ahead of us it seems, however we are continuing to progress steadily. As we start planning to find another house here in town, we are now considering only holding on to things we need and things that we will take with us interior when we move. We think about you guys often and look forward to being home and being able to fellowship with everyone.
Thank you all so much for your faithful support and prayers for us!

Good to hear from you your little ones are growing so fast, glad you are doing good glad you are learning the language if it was me the end of time might come before I would learn it with my accent my 7 year old grandson correct me all the time when I am reading to him he say Poppy you didn’t say that word right I say yes I did you just didn’t hear it right. When you go inland is it all back country and is there a town there close by? Thanks for keeping us updated and we will keep you in our prayers everyday like we always have praying God protects you all and that this language will come easier as you study and you all will fill the love that we send you dear friends, I know you are both having a great time with those two great looking kids hug them for us keep safe and God Bless.
