I was born and brought up in New Hampshire. At the age of 10 my parents wanted me to have a better education so I started to attend a private Christian school. In November of 1979 my teacher approached me and asked me if I saw a difference between me and the other children. I said no and off to recess I went. After that I did start to notice a difference so a few days later just before recess I asked her what it was. She shared that the difference was they had Christ in their lives and I did not. That day I realized I needed Christ and accepted the Lord as my Savior. Since then the Lord has put faithful men in my life to mentor me as a man, a husband and a father.
I was born and brought up in New Hampshire. When I was nine years old I attended a Vacation Bible School in my hometown. I was told how Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. This is when I realized that I was a sinner and needed Jesus to save me. I accepted Christ as my Savior that day. Since then the Lord has brought various mature believers into my life that have encouraged me and helped me to continue to grow in my relationship with Him.
Our calling to tribal missions:
Even when Tina and I were young in the Lord, we saw a need for people to come to know Jesus as their Savior. We both worked toward this by serving in various outreach ministries in our local church as well as personal ministries around town and in our state. When we were old enough we had the opportunity to expand even further by taking short term mission trips to Central and South America.
For Tina, her trip to Colombia, South America, is where her eyes were opened to tribal missions. She then pursued this calling by attending New Tribes Bible School.
For Ernest, his trip to Bolivia, South America, is where his eyes were opened to tribal missions. He then pursued this calling by attending New England Bible College.
Once we were married God gave us the opportunity to serve missions in many ways ranging from praying, giving, promoting, having missionaries in our home and also going on a short term trip. We served together in the local church for a few years when the Lord led us to join New Tribes Mission. Upon finishing the NTM training, God led us to serve as an extension of the NTM Tech Center, serving in Canada. There we taught the Missionary Technology course and also served as the head mechanic. Currently, God has led us to the training center in Missouri to assist teaching the advanced Missionary Technology Course. This course is to prepare Tech Specialists who will assist missionaries with technology challenges on a specific field.
Ernest has been teaching the missionary Technology courses for the Tech Center at the New Tribes Mission Training Center in Canada for the past eight years. His knowledge and experience helps the missionary candidates understand how to manage many of the physical challenges they will face on the mission field. Now that we have someone else who can teach in Canada, Ernest is preparing to help teach the Advanced Missionary Technology course at the Missionary Training Center in Roach, Missouri. This course is to prepare Tech Specialists who will assist missionaries with technology challenges on a specific field. This is a very in depth course with nearly 700 hours of class time. As part of the New Tribes Mission Training Center, our goal is to help our missionary candidates qualify technically and spiritually before they go to the foreign field. We are teaching faithful men and women to teach others in the regions beyond.
