Three phase power may not sound like something that a missionary would use, but in most of our mission centers we have it. We teach our specialists how 3 phase works, how it is wired and most of all how to work safely around it. In our electric motor class we go over all the different types of motors. We cover AC and DC motors. In the pictures the students built a motor using wire and a pickle jar cap. It allowed them to see how the electric fields work in turning a shaft, plus it was fun to build.
