Dear Friends and family,
Thank you so much for the nice Christmas Greetings which many of you sent. It brightened up our holidays to hear from you.
We had nice family times with several of our kids. The “odd ones” (# 1,3, and 5-Amy, Beka, and Tim with their spouses) were here for the holidays! #2 and 4 (Debby and David) had other obligations which prevented them from coming. We did spend time on Skype with them. For New Years, we spent time with Grandma and Grandpa in South Florida. We sure enjoy being with our family.
The family of God continues to grow around the world as well. A family which serve in Papua New Guinea with NTM write this about the PAL believers, who are very new believers! It’s exciting news!
“In November over 230 Pal people publicly proclaimed their faith in Jesus Christ and were baptized. …We finished working through Romans chapters 1-8 by the end of November, teaching and discipling the Pal men and women through the wonderful truths of God’s gospel of salvation. We rejoiced with them as they rejoiced in the certainty of their salvation, we wrestled with them as they wrestled with the battle between their flesh and their life in Christ, and we prayed with them as they urged our Lord to return soon. Pray for them as they continue this journey of allowing God’s Spirit to work in them and through them, conforming their lives to the only perfect one, Jesus Christ. ”
Chris and Abby, the missionaries in this tribe, are currently on their home assignment in Minnesota. They desire for these believers to grow even stronger in their faith while they are “home”. Please pray with us for this.
Part of our job here at the home offices is to encourage and contact our missionaries as they are on Home Assignment. Linda has a packet of information and resources she has developed that she sends out to each one, and George is available to be a resource should they call. We sent out 14 of these packets just this week, for this month. Please pray that we are a blessing and encouragement to our members which we serve here from the Home Offices. Thanks
We are having a good time helping Amy and Hector as they continue to get settled, and get the paperwork and other matters done during their time home. They plan on heading to the Northwest come Spring, and have those plans to put into place as well. They are a bit tired, and have been working hard. Their boys are very active. Judah is “in training” and Ben just got two new teeth! I think he is working on some more too! He has been a bit fussy!
We head to Nicaragua in February to help Brett and Debby with the new twins. We are packing most of our luggage space with items for the family (Christmas, baby things, and birthday stuff, too!). We are excited to see them, and those little boys that are arriving soon.
Beka and Cody are with us for a time now, until they return to the training with NTM in Missouri (January 16). It is nice to have the family close.
Thank you so much for the part you have had in our lives and ministries. Please pray with us that we would have wisdom from above in our work, and other projects (teaching Sunday School, and Music at church). We would like to plan a trip to the Northwest sometime this year, as it has been over 7 years since we were there. (I think it is almost time to go again!) Please pray for us to have direction in those plans.
Thanks much for all of your care for us!
Blessings, in Him,
George and Linda Heckman
