June/July 2016
Dear Friends,
We have received some shocking news in these recent days. These news-bits cause us to pray and look to our Father for His grace and strength for these days ahead. We look for His return and trust in His care until He comes to take us home.
Please join us in prayer for these dear friends as they faithfully walk through the valleys God is leading them through:
Eight families in our NTM Family have recently (in the last month) lost loved ones; mothers, a grandmother, an uncle, and a brother. One family just lost their 19 year old son.
Joy, one of our co-workers from the NTM Training facility in Baker City, Oregon is having Chemo treatments for non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Beka and Cody are traveling to Spokane this week. Their “new truck” has broken down twice so far. PRAY it makes it the rest of the way without problems! They are in Montana now, and hope to arrive in Spokane tonight. (Arrived safely 6-28-16) Now to find a place to live and a job at the hospital for Beka.)
Amy and Hector are having travel plans change due to his parents not being able to come after all. (Their mode of transportation is not reliable enough to go to Michigan and back.) They will move on Friday to another friend’s house for the last 10 days they are in Oregon.
Brett and Debby are still fighting this crazy Chikungunya virus. They are having some travel arrangement issues as well, due to short amounts of time to go through customs and change planes in Ft, Lauderdale on their flight home. They don’t think ½ hour is sufficient to go through customs and catch their connecting flight (especially with 4 kids!). Debby and Asher have a rash now, too. The Doctor says it is common with Zika or Chikungunya Virus. The boys are not sleeping well. They are starting Bible studies in their home this week. The battle is real! Thanks for praying!
On the other Hand, we have much cause for rejoicing in the ways God is leading, providing and encouraging us! He is a good, good Father and we are loved by Him,
David and Joice had a good trip taking the Youth on an outreach trip in Denver. Pray for lasting fruit from these kids!
We have a group of 21 Associate Candidates going through their Pre-Field Orientation this week at the US Home Offices. How exciting to see the Lord raising up laborers for His harvest!
We had a missionary from PNG share in chapel last week of the outreach of the Ituxxxx people. These dear believers have heard the truth of God’s word, and have answered His call to take the Gospel message to another tribal group nearby . This meant learning the other language, and translating the Bible lessons and other teaching materials into the other language to take the message to the nearby group. They trusted God to provide help for them to do the translation, and for the Bible lessons, ( God provided a US missionary family and single gal) but the indigenous church took the responsibility for the outreach to share the message, and spearhead the new work. It was a very encouraging story!
The Word of God is going out, people with no hope are hearing the message of Hope. We are thrilled to be a part of this! Thank you for your prayers, support and encouragement as we continue working with NTM in the US Home Offices.
