Heckman Update May 2017
Warm greetings from Central Florida. We are excited to share this news update from PNG with you. These folks will soon be hearing of the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (In the next week or two.) Please join us in praying for many souls to understand and accept Jesus as their only Savior!
News Update from the I*** People of Papua New Guinea
A lady names Pr***a said– “My children remember all I used to do to be accepted by God, I would hurt myself while praying thinking that it would help… My children remember that and they laugh, they tell me, “Mum, you really had it completely wrong, there is nothing you can do of your own strength to be righteous in God’s eyes, now, we know it!”
Please pray for the children, most of them follow the teaching well, they answer the questions and they understand that this message is also for them.
Another, O***ia said– “What we hear is so different from what we had heard before. We spend hours with the other women talking about what we are hearing. We tell the stories again, we don’t get tired of it. God is so great. I pray He will carve His words in my heart so that I don’t forget them. I pray that He will speak to the hearts of my children too. I often tell them that I cannot believe in their place, they have to make this as a personal choice, I cannot do it for them. I believe in the Saviour God promised to send, He alone can take away my sins, I have no power to do it myself, and no other man can do it either, only the Saviour can.”
We would do well to have this same attitude towards the Word of God in our daily lives as well, wouldn’t we? He is so great! All-powerful, unchanging, and amazing God!
Our Easter program at our local Church went very well. Thank you for your prayers. George’s Sunday School class is going great too! We have seen so many answers to our prayers. We thank the Lord for you dear ones standing with us in prayer.
This last week Beka passed her Oral Board Exams and now has her “silver wings” to fly in the Life Flight chopper! (and not be in Orientation!) Cody has been flying a Cessena 206 and has seen God answer prayer for clear weather to accomplish the flights he needs. We praise the Lord for safety for both of these adventurers!
Debby wrote a couple of weeks ago that Ethan and Asher were sick again! Please pray that they would be able to stay hydrated, and stay well. They update their blogs on Facebook often! Go see debbybrettchapman there for updates.
May will be a busy month for us. George traveled to Wisconsin for meetings about retirement there. We went to South Florida for Mom’s birthday May 6. We’ll go to the Florida West coast for the FBC graduation on May 12. Then the 16-29th we will be heading to Michigan to open the house for the summer season. Amy and Hector and boys will join us in Michigan, after their classes are done for the semester at the MTC.
We are praying for Joice as she seeks a new job at a Dentist Office. We are praying for a better work situation for her. David is still doing flower delivery. He enjoys that, except for Orlando traffic!
Tim is doing well at his job, and Charity has been substituting in one classroom for awhile, and will continue with that class until the end of the year. (The “normal” teacher is on maternity leave.)
We are thankful for our church family here in Florida, and the family God has blessed us with. We are so very thankful for our Home church family in Oregon. We had a nice letter from a friend there this last week. It was Good news from a Far Country! Thank you, each of you, for the part you play in our ministry. Your prayers for us and support are very much appreciated, and we could not be here without you!
Thank you! Please let us know how we can pray for you as well. Our contact information is below. We would love to hear from you!
In His Great Love,
George and Linda Heckman
