Hello from Rainy Florida
Greetings from the Heckman’s. We had a great trip to Michigan, last month, and a good time with Family there. Our main purpose was to open up our summer house for the season. Amy and Hector, David and Joice, and George’s parents came along, and we had a great time. Much was accomplished and we are thankful for safety and good weather. (although it was much cooler than Florida!)
We are enjoying having Hector and Amy staying with us for the summer. It’s nice to have them here. If you know of anyone who would like to hear about their ministry before the first of August, when they return to Missouri to complete training for Hector, please let me know!
Brett and Debby are doing better health-wise in Nicaragua. We are so thankful for that. They had a great
meeting at their Kids’ Bible Club a couple of weeks ago, when they hosted a special Mother’s Day party to invite more families to come and hear the good news of Salvation by grace through Faith in Christ alone. They had a turnout of 70 people!
Ethnos 360* (*founded in 1942 as New Tribes Mission) is still working to spread this good news of the Gospel around the world to every language group that has no gospel witness. Please pray that the Lord would raise up laborers for His harvest. As He has said , “The harvest is great, but the laborers are few.”
Thank YOU, so much for the part you have had in our ministry over the years. We appreciate your support in prayer and those of you who have shared financially with us. You have been a blessing and we appreciate you! God has been so faithful to provide our needs these last 30 +years we have served with NTM/Ethnos360.
We continue to labor in the US Home offices of Ethnos360. Doing much behind the scenes work to keep our missionaries on the fields, and sharing God’s word with others. We also continue in our local church ministry, and thanking God for the opportunities He brings our way to share His word and encourage others.
We appreciate your prayers for our continued work in Ethnos360. Our job descriptions are pretty much the same, but the work is always varied. We are working to see some of our senior members work through the retirement process successfully. We are processing new members and helping them get ready to head to their fields of service, (23 new folks this month completed their training, and became members of Ethnos360). George gets to spend a few hours teaching some modules of information to the new associate members of Ethnos360 who will be soon headed out to the fields. We correspond with our folks as they come on Home Assignment and offer them resources and encouragement for their time at “home”. We are so thankful for the many ways we are able to serve, and meet needs for our members.
We look forward to the family getting together the end of June. All 5 kids and families will be able to come. These are special days! We can’t meet in Michigan this year, but have a new location in the mountains of Georgia to try. We’ll let you know how it goes!
I’ll close now, with thanks again for your part in our ministry. We could not be here without your prayers for us, and the friendship and care you give. Thank you!
Here are a few prayer requests:
Brett and Debby in Nicaragua-health for the entire family, Debby’s wrist pain, and good visit home this summer. Support level is a bit short each month.. PTL for the good help they are getting with Kid’s club and with the twins.
Amy and Hector to get good rest this summer, and be encouraged as they visit friends here in Florida. For their support level as Hector finished the training, and get ready to move back to Mexico. Direction for future tribal ministry. Wisdom raising their boys.
Beka and Cody in flight training in Washington State. For Beka to have wisdom at work, and make good decisions with patients. For Cody as he continues to fly and learn about different planes.
David and Joice to have direction as they are considering a move.
Tim and Charity as they work. Good nanny jobs for Charity for the summer.
George and Linda to have wisdom in their work, and keep our eyes on the Lord. He alone is worthy!
Thanks much for all you mean to us!
George and Linda Heckman
