Hello Friends!
We are so excited to have a little cooler temperature now! It occasionally gets in the 90s still, but for the most part we are in the low to mid 80s. Seems like the humidity is a bit less as well.
George has been spending a good amount of time learning the new HR software we will be using for our department at Ethnos360. It is nice, but a big learning curve to get it set up for our use in the Mission. Linda has been writing lots of retirement letters for our dear folks who are reaching that stage of life. We pray that the transition to retirement will be a blessing and encouragement to these members facing retirement!
Please lift up our new Department Director as he is learning the ropes of the Member Services Department. He is also learning and helping develop the new software for our department! The learning curve is HUGE. We are so thankful for what he brings to our department!
Another gal in our department, Jen, is getting ready to take a 5 week trip back to West Africa to visit people she worked with formerly. The situation may be tenuous, and she needs much wisdom and discernment as she travels, and says her good-byes. Thanks for lifting her up in prayer.
This month we find we will be travelling quite a bit. Besides the normal weekend travel, we will Give Thanks to the Lord for all His Benefits!
add a few extra days in South Florida to give George’s brothers a small “caretaker’s” break.
Linda is involved helping a dear friend’s wedding go well on the 12th. Not sure entirely how much that will entail yet–flowers and decorating for sure, maybe alterations, and cooking.
We have a Missions Conference to be a part of October 18-20 in Tampa at one of our two supporting churches. We are very thankful for this opportunity!
The end of the month will take us to Michigan to close our summer house there. Linda’s brother, and maybe her sister too, will be there part of the time. That is always a special time, and pretty work intensive, as well.
Our kids are all doing well. Tim is settled in with friends in Gainesville. We’re praying they will all have a good influence on each other. Tim recently fell and injured his ribs! OW!!
David and Joice await their little Pumpkin, Peter’s birth! He is scheduled to arrive 10-30-19. We can’t wait to meet him! We were able to get involved helping David and Joice move to a new larger apartment last weekend. It was just next door, and they had lots of friends helping too, so it was a fast, and successful move.
Amy and Hector are still with us in Florida and still waiting a letter to find out when Hector’s swearing in is for his US Citizenship. Amy has not been feeling so well, and the kids have been sick. We are trusting they will soon begin feeling better! Judah (6) lost his first tooth this week. Pray that Hector and Amy will have patience and learn the things God has for them to learn in this waiting time. Thanks!
Brett and Debby are continuing with “Furniture remodeling!” And Have begun homeschooling again. Their kids are so much fun! A very active family! We are so thankful that we get to stop and see them on the weekends we head to Mom and Dad’s in South Florida.
Dad was supposed to come home from his last hospital stay yesterday, that didn’t happen. Please pray that he will continue learning that his times are in God’s hands and to trust his Heavenly Father’s care for Him. For 88 he is doing well, the doctors couldn’t find much wrong with him, even with all his lengthy stay in the hospital this last time!
These can be confusing days for George’s Mom. Thanks for remembering her in prayer, as we seek to encourage her in the Lord, and help her through her days.
Beka and Cody and little Abi are doing well. That little boy sure smiles a lot! He is growing and learning lots! Latest discovery-gravel! Cody is learning all about Helicopter maintenance.
Thanks a million for praying for us. We appreciate your care, your moral support, and encouragement. We love hearing from you!
We are finding God sufficient and trusting His wisdom for the decisions we must make. Pray that we will continue to see Him faithful as we serve Him and walk with him through these days of travel and family care.
Thanks again for praying! We appreciate you!
Love and Prayers!
George and Linda Heckman
