Dear Friends,
Welcome to November!!! Our days are flying by. Our “odometers” racked up the miles last month! Travels included going to Fort Lauderdale several times to visit and help Mom and Dad Heckman.
October 19-21 found us traveling to a Missions Conference in Tampa with some dear friends from our church in Deltona. Going to the Conference at Calvary Community Church was a highlight for us all. The theme this year was, “The Missionary Is Necessary”. We had a good time with Beka and Cody, and Abi there. They flew in for the conference from their training center in Arizona. We hosted a small group seminar together with them on the Ethnos360 training. This included discussion on what training is needed to plant a thriving church.
After that fun weekend, we worked for a couple of days and then flew to Michigan for a week to close up the house for the season. That was a nice relaxing trip. We cut a lot of firewood and Linda sewed covers for the porch furnishings. We were so thankful for Linda’s brother Bob who took our rowboat, canoe, and docks out of the lake for the winter. We saw lots of deer, a fox, a flock of turkeys, and a bald eagle who grabbed breakfast from the lake right in front of the house!
News alert: Dad stood up for a few seconds several times when he was working with the Physical Therapist. Those were exciting moments! Our trouble now is that he hasn’t been able to get the Physical Therapist to come back! Home health agencies, and the doctor’s office are causing problems by not communicating well with each other! Please Pray.
Mom had a two week stay in the hospital while we were out of the state. She is home now and doing some better. The changes in her medications have caused some changes in how she is feeling. Please pray for her to settle and to be able to sleep at night. (She hasn’t slept at night for a long while now.) She has been very restless, and her blood pressure has been erratic. Thanks so much for holding Mom and Dad up in prayer.
November 2 we went to a memorial service for one of our longtime friends and a faithful supporter of our ministry. We will miss him, and the prayer support he offered for us. It was a joy to see his family and reconnect with several friends from Youth Ranch days in Clearwater, Florida.
Hector had his swearing in October 25, and is now a US citizen. He and Amy left us Monday the 11th, and are headed to Mexico! His passport is waiting for him in El Paso. He was been involved in a Coaching seminar at the Mission home offices his last week here. That was a valuable seminar. Today they fly out to a tribal location where a Bible Translation Dedication will be happening this week. They hope to allocate to this tribe in the near future,
Debby and Brett are busy ministering in their church, making furniture, homeschooling, and teaching English online. Their kids are growing so quickly. The twins especially – they will be tall boys!!
Beka and Cody are enjoying their time in Flight Training in Arizona with Ethnos360 Aviation. Abi is growing and is such a cutie! They are excited to see a couple of new supporters have joined their team from the time at the missions conference in Tampa.
David and Joice are enjoying the new little guy at their house. Peter is growing quickly and has already passed 1 month old!
Tim is still working for the distribution company in Ocala. His vehicle just “died” it has 320K miles on it. Please pray he will be able to find reliable transportation.
Thanks so much for your prayers for our tribe. We desire to see them all walking closely with the Lord.
New software is the order of business at the Ethnos360 Home offices. Two new softwares forthe finance office, and new HR software is being adapted to our mission, and the learning curve has been steep! George has been doing much training with the HR software. Pray for the developers as well as the missionaries who will be learning how to use this for their ministries at the Home Offices. Thanks!
Linda’s been writing a lot of retirement letters for our folks who are moving that direction at the end of the year. She got 5 couple’s letters done last week, and has about 6 or more in the works! Along with the bookkeeping she does for our businesses, and the management she does for the online bookstore, she keeps busy.
We plan on hosting Thanksgiving for part of our family this year. Linda’s sister and her family, and her brother and Sister-in-law will come for a few days, and Debby and Brett will come, and probably Tim and friend as well. So far, our count is 17 coming!
Thank you for all of your prayers and support for our ministries and family. You are so appreciated! We do “thank God on every remembrance of you, always making request for you with joy!…” (Philippians 1:3-6.) Linda has been memorizing this passage and it encourages us to thank God for you!
We hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving. Thanking God for all the blessings we have in Christ! Let us know what you are thanking God for this month! 😊
Blessings,
George and Linda Heckman
