October is almost upon us and here in Indonesia that means Ramadan, the yearly month of fasting. During this month our Islamic neighbors fast every day from sun up to sun down. The month concludes with a big Idul Fitri celebration, where gifts are exchanged and feasts prepared and served.
Well August has arrived! Everyone here is painting their fences and putting up flags for their August 17th Independence Day. Our lives are getting back to normal. Greg and Herman have safely returned from their visit to our tribe, and Greg is now handling all major water problems! He is so much better at it than I am!
Wednesday morning Greg and Herman left on a nearly three day voyage to our village. They traveled by boat one day and night from Sulawesi to the shore of the Island we minister on, then after checking in with the authorities there, traveled by car an few hours and then by foot one full day into our village . I just received word that they arrived safely.
