May Update

May 30, 2019 by Regina Rodman

Iyodotabo, a Moi woman in the Asia-Pacific region, is glad to have a body of believers to worship with and a New Testament in her own language. “I think it’s good to know how to read God’s Word so that we can know the Creator’s talk and get His truth straight from His Word. If we just rely on our own thoughts, it will be crooked. If we take it from the Creator’s talk, it won’t be crooked. It will just be true. Because the Creator made His talk to be truth, we can get truth from His leaf (book).”  Read the full article here.

We deeply appreciate your prayers and support.  Without you, we could not fill the roles we do in Ethnos360, and we are blessed to be a part of this great church planting effort.

Scott’s team has a new member!  Neil Byce has been hired as an Enterprise Information System Project Manager.   He assists with technology training around topics such as Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft Office 365 applications.  This software was chosen to help our missionaries communicate as a local team, as a team across the various centers in the USA, and with overseas missionaries in English and other languages.  It also ensures team communications are in a secure place and reduces time spent on emails as you can have conversations and manage projects in a central location.

Scott is helping Mike Sullivan connect his laptop to a non-domain printer.

Scott is working with one other co-worker to cover the computer maintenance needs this month. There’s a lot going on and a few people to do it, so please pray for good time management and good lines of communication for the team.

Recently a computer was damaged in shipping.  Scott: We’ve taken pro-active measures since then, including taking photos, to make sure to catch any problems that arise. We have included a note to have people contact us, and let us know it arrived safely.

The latest NTM@work magazine comes out in June, and we have posted the Don Woody video, God’s Heart for the Nations online.  You can view part 1 here below. Part 1 & part 2 are about 30 minutes each, and would be a good resource for a small group or youth group missions’ focus.

Don Woody shares God’s heartbeat for the world from the Old and New Testaments. Watch the video

I am now working on a video about Wayumi for a Pastor’s conference.  Wayumi is an adventure in tribal missions that really helps Pastors see what missions is all about.  Pray that the Pastors will come to Wayumi and send many of their youth and college groups to get the big picture of missions and how they can be a part of it.  Pray that the video will come together quickly!

Regina is exporting a customized partnership video for Ethnos360 missionaries.

Thanks for praying for our trip to New Jersey.  We had a nice time connecting with supporters and a supporting church, Garden Lake Bible Church.  We appreciate the great hosts we had on this trip as well as our recent partnership trip to Michigan.  In Michigan we were able to connect with Regina’s sending church, Skiff Lake Bible Church, as well as another supporting church, First Baptist of Bear Lake.  We were able to share updates and visit with several partners.  If we didn’t get to see you, hopefully next time we will!

Prayer requests:

1. Good time management and communication for Scott’s team.
2. To make an effective video about the Wayumi program for Pastors.
3. Praise we were able to connect with churches and partners recently.
